Phnom Bokor City, "Recovering for Golden Age Again"

View on the Top of Bokor Mountain Before 1975

Phnom Bokor or Bokor Mountain Resort has been the most popular resort for French Colonial and high ranking people of Cambodia. The creativity came from French Colonial to build the natural tourism resort in Cambodia as the relaxation place. Bokor was so interesting at that time with the quiet natural environment between forest in the land and the island in the sea. creating the amazing scenery to all tourists. Hotels, restuarants, apartments, pagodas and so on was built to satisfy the needs of tourists. In Sangkum Reastr Niyum Regime (1955-1970) and Khmer Republic (1970-1975), Bokor mountain resort still remained popular among local tourists and foreigners to relax in the highest place towards the cloud. The cold weather made people release the stress and enjoy life with nature. Unfortunately, people living and working in this city were forced to leave for countryside in Pol Pot Regime while city became ghost city as Phnom Penh in the same period. Not like Phnom Penh, Bokor mountain city was abandoned for over 30 years as the ghost city to welcome just some local and foreign tourists visiting the remained infrastructure and surrounding nature in there. Golden age as one of Cambodia's glorious city has been returned through the new project from Thansur Bokor Resort of Tycoon SOK Kong's company with the loan from China over one thousand millions US Dollar. Old buildings and other remained infrastructure would be repaired plus new casino, appartments, villa, condo, and much more to attract more tourists to this golden city highly deeping into the sky like skyscrapers in modern country. Many tourism services will be provided to all tourists with suitable price. "Let's see Bokor Mountain City Resort once a life time!"
