Comment on Night Time Traffic Accident Injury and Treatment in Phnom Penh

Phnom Penh night is so popular among young people as well as some old people going to drink or going to club. Since then, more and more traffic accident usually occurs because of their drunk. One case released to me that a person went to drink with his friends after work. Around 1 O'clock at night he got the motor accident in Tuol Kork and luckily wearing helmet just fainted; his wallet was stolen. However, his family could not contact him because he was taken by emergency van of a hospital near Kampuchea Krom Blvd. Then he was just injected with serum and awaken. He wanted to contact his family, but the doctor seems smart not to give the phone for a call to family. Why? Because that hospital wanted to charge him the very expensive price unexpected for people to consider. No one could deny for that fees because the patient  already stay in the hospital. Only a night, the hospital said there were 5 or 6 serums injected to him. Do you believe one night from around 1 am until the morning around 7 am costing 5 or 6 serums? Do you know the price? It costed over 100 hundred US Dollars for treatment and emergency van fees. Additionally, his wound seemed not treat carefully. How many hospitals commit such a bad action like this in Phnom Penh? So expensive for ordinary people, the government of Cambodia should consider this case on the discussion table as the issue of social affair. Taking action to control these hospitals carefully should be the best way of the government to serve Cambodian residents attentively. The comment for our government is to appoint the professional expected not commit corruption from Ministry of Health to do the monthly surveillance on those hospitals reporting back the founding results. Then Ministry of Health and the government officials should discuss together what should be the best solutions for the founding issue. Whether the Ministry of Health or government to take actions through the law enforcement or punishment on those hospitals. "Serving people rightly, the government is the only one being trusted to do the right thing for her own people!"
